Contemporary style is becoming an artform that more and more Australian men are beginning to master. With the advent of Instagram, fashion blogs, style videos and alike, it's seemingly never been easier to style oneself up.

Nevertheless, it still remains a task that requires thought, preparation and in some cases, a little bit of experimentation. And it can never hurt to learn from industry heavyweights - and pay heed to their encouragement and guidance.

In this edition of The Style Project, our panel of fashion experts – Matt Jensen (CEO and founder of MJ Bale), Graeme Lewsey (CEO of Melbourne Fashion Festival), Dom Bagnato (menswear designer) and Luc Wiesman (editor and founder of D'Marge.com) – each give one piece of style advice for gents of a sartorial bent.

"It's important to be a collector," Jensen tells the panel.

"And quality outpaces anything, really," Bagnato adds. "Most consumers now have got their expectation for quality at eye-level - they can tell what's good quality."
