MY ONE DREAM DESTINATION IS STILL …

Turkey. It's exotic, adventurous and delicious. Immensely suitable for history-lovers, dreamers, eaters and shoppers. I used to travel to Turkey regularly to cover Anzac Day when I was the ABC Middle-East correspondent, first visiting in the 1990s, and always found people friendly yet prepared to speak their minds. I'm working with Renaissance Tours on a trip I'll lead to Turkey in 2022.

WHEN THIS IS ALL OVER I'M DREAMING OF VISITING …

The Outer Hebrides in Scotland. I adore remote islands. And my ancestors came from these islands and travelled to China in the 1800s. I want to discover the motivation for why my ancestors left their island home and crossed the seas to somewhere so far away and so different. I'd love to know why.

MY DREAM TRAVEL BUBBLE DESTINATION IS …

South Korea or Taiwan. For any opportunity to sample traditional Korean fare and to watch Kimchi being made. And Taiwan because I've only been to the major cities. I've heard the natural scenery is breathtaking and who doesn't love a dumpling or three?

MY DREAM DOMESTIC DESTINATION IS …

The Torres Strait Islands – again, for me it's islands, water and people because I know this beautiful area will blow me away.

MY DREAM DOMESTIC TRIP SO FAR HAS BEEN …

The Great Barrier Reef. The coral may be bleached in many areas but the sea-life is still awe-inspiring. I had a close encounter with a friendly wrasse which was captured in a photo and it makes me grin every time I see it.
