My dream destination: Rachael Azzopardi, creative director, Illuminate Adelaide.
By Julietta Jameson
MY ONE DREAM DESTINATION IS STILL
Malta, my first trip was in 2003. I particularly love it as I have many family members there but also its natural beauty is jaw-dropping, with deep blue Mediterranean water, white sandy beaches and limestone cliffs. Also, the food is great and the Maltese people are so warm and welcoming.
WHEN THIS IS ALL OVER I'M DREAMING OF VISITING
Iceland. I have been dreaming about this one for a long time. The natural landscape and scenery look stunning, particularly the Blue Lagoon and volcanos. And to see the northern lights would be an incredible experience – top of my bucket list.
MY DREAM TRAVEL BUBBLE DESTINATION IS
Japan at cherry blossom time. To explore the history, food, landscapes and rich culture whilst being immersed in the beauty of cherry blossoms, for me, would equal heaven.
MY DREAM DOMESTIC DESTINATION IS
Broome in Western Australia is another place I have dreamt of going to for some time. With winter in Adelaide, warm ocean filled days, a night-time camel ride and pearl shopping is very appealing.
MY DREAM DOMESTIC TRIP SO FAR HAS BEEN
Kangaroo Island. On one trip I stayed at Southern Ocean Lodge (sadly destroyed in the 2020 bush fires). It was four days of luxurious food and wine and amazing day tours of landmarks around the Island such as Remarkable Rocks and Seal Bay, and invigorating walks along sweeping white-sand beaches and cliffs.
A celebration of innovation, music, art and light, Illuminate Adelaide runs in the South Australian capital July 16 – August 1. See illuminateadelaide.com
