MY ONE DREAM DESTINATION IS STILL …

I was born and raised in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. I have many close family and friends, and I always get a super nice and warm feeling every time I travel back. Especially travelling in the Mongolian countryside and wilderness, it gives me an enormous sense of being a part of nature and feeling part of everything. There are still so many parts of Mongolia I haven't discovered yet.

I remember my father taking me to visit relatives in the Gobi desert when I was pretty young, in the 1980s. It was my first adventure into proper Mongolian countryside, and I still remember the smell of the old Russian 4WD called the "69" we drove in.

WHEN THIS IS ALL OVER I'M DREAMING OF VISITING …

Krakow, Poland. I spent about a year in Krakow when I was 13-14 years old and haven't been to visit since. I have many fond memories of places and experiences in that city. I was exposed to a great deal of art and culture while living there which had a great influence in shaping me as an artist later on.

MY DREAM TRAVEL BUBBLE DESTINATION IS …

Either New Zealand or Japan. I've never been to New Zealand in my 21 years of living in Australia. I really want to go and see that amazing country. And I've never been to Japan either! I would be really really happy if I can travel to either.

MY DREAM DOMESTIC DESTINATION IS …

I want to travel across the middle of Australia. I had this plan for a big road trip with my mates which still hasn't happened yet, so I'm very keen to do it some time soon.

MY DREAM DOMESTIC TRIP SO FAR HAS BEEN ...

Arnhem Land. My work takes me all over Australia, but the best experiences were in Nhulunbuy and Yirrkala so far. I would love to explore more of the Northern Territory and learn different Indigenous cultures and traditions.

Heesco Khosnaran, who goes by Heesco, is one of Australia's most renowned mural artists. He is based in Melbourne and is currently completing silo art in Harden-Murrumburrah, New South Wales. See heesco.com
