My travel life: Angie Kent, reality TV star, The Bachelorette

Angie Kent.

Angie Kent.

THE TRAVELLER

Angie Kent is a reality TV star and the current Bachelorette. She has appeared on Gogglebox and I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and, in her real life, works as a carer and support worker.

NUMBER OF COUNTRIES VISITED

I think around 13.

ANY PASSPORT MISHAPS/MISADVENTURES?

Surprisingly, I've never had a problem which is rare for me because I lose everything.

I GOT MY FIRST PASSPORT ...

Just before I was 18, in 2008, as my boyfriend at the time was taking me to Thailand for my birthday and Valentine's Day.

MY PASSPORT PHOTO IS

Pretty average. My fat forehead takes up most of it.

I CAN'T STOP GOING BACK TO

The UK, as my best friend moved there after we graduated from uni and I saved up and worked full time as a nanny in Brisbane to get myself over there at around 21. I did a couple more three-month visits and later returned and worked as an au pair in London, visiting her family – whom I've always seen as my second family – in Somerset every other weekend.

MY LAST TRAVEL DESTINATION WAS

South Africa, for the TV show I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here for six weeks from January 2019. I made the top five, and it was one of the best experiences of my life.

MY NEXT TRAVEL DESTINATION IS

Hopefully Cambodia, to visit a school that my uncle helped build as a passion project.

I'M REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO

Seeing the amazing work my uncle has done. My grandmother, Nanny Fae, passed away in September last year and the money we raised from selling her furniture we used to help build a classroom [in Cambodia]. We knew she'd love money from her belongings to help people in need; that was the kind of person my Nanny was. .

WHAT I REALLY WANT FROM MY NEXT TRIP IS

To keep on helping in any way that I can to make a difference in this world.

I LOVE TO TRAVEL BECAUSE

I love culture and experiencing all the beauties of the world. How blessed we are that we can do that.

MY TRAVEL PHILOSOPHY IS

To go everywhere with an open mind. Let the universe guide you and be open to all the world's beauties.

THE ONE TRAVEL MISTAKE I ALWAYS MAKE IS

Eating too much airplane food and feeling sick for days. Memo to self: pack own snacks.

THE ONE THING I REALLY DO GET RIGHT WHEN I TRAVEL IS

Having the best time ever. I eat all of the foods and explore my heart out.

IF I HAD TO SIT IN THE MIDDLE SEAT THE OTHER PASSENGERS I'D WANT ON EITHER SIDE OF ME WOULD BE

People who wouldn't mind me needing to pee every other minute. What celebrities would they be? Maybe patient people like Oprah and Deepak Chopra.

THE ONE FAMOUS TRAVELLER I REALLY ADMIRE IS

Anthony Bourdain. He was such a passionate foodie, he had no filters and was absolutely hilarious. RIP to the VIP.

THE ONE FAMOUS PERSON I'D LIKE TO TRAVEL WITH IS

One of the girls from [US sitcom about life in New York] Broad City, Ilana [Glazer] or Abbi [Jacobson], because they are the funniest gals alive and we'd get into so much trouble.

AIRLINE FOOD IS

Not great.

AIRPORT SECURITY IS

Hardcore but very much needed.

HOTELS ARE

Such a treat, love me a good hotel room.

I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO GO TO

All of Africa

I'VE NEVER WANTED TO GO TO

Bali, but then I went – twice – and I love it.

AISLE OR WINDOW?

Aisle, because of my bathroom addiction.
