ANY PASSPORT MISHAPS?

I'm generally very good with my passport, but my passport photo … It's not my greatest work.

I GOT MY FIRST PASSPORT WHEN I WAS

three months old in 1972.

MY PASSPORT PHOTO IS

not so good. I look like a teenager.

I CAN'T STOP GOING BACK TO

Italy. Because there is so much history, nature and artistic beauty that you want to savour bit by bit.

MY LAST TRAVEL DESTINATION WAS

Tokyo last weekend for two days for business, to launch a new Sydney apartment project Mastery in Japan with Crown Group CEO Iwan Sunito and Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, and also to inspect another project under construction in Shibuya.

MY NEXT TRAVEL DESTINATION IS

Doha for 10 days, again for business. I have been invited by the royal family to attend the grand opening of my project within the National Museum of Qatar, for which I designed the interiors.

I'M REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO

seeing the result as well as people's reaction to it, after nearly nine years of working on it.

WHAT I REALLY WANT FROM MY NEXT TRIP IS

to slow down as I am too time-poor at the moment.

I LOVE TO TRAVEL BECAUSE

travelling gives me a breathing space and resets my perspective of life in general. It's a time to see new things, new places and that often stimulates my creativity and gives me good ideas.

MY TRAVEL PHILOSOPHY IS

Maya Angelou said, "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away". Travel enriches your life with all these moments.

THE ONE TRAVEL MISTAKE I ALWAYS MAKE IS

accessing the in-flight Wi-Fi and ending up not getting any sleep.

THE ONE THING I REALLY DO GET RIGHT WHEN I TRAVEL IS

keeping in touch with my practice. I can't help myself unfortunately.

IF I HAD TO SIT IN THE MIDDLE SEAT THE OTHER PASSENGERS I'D WANT ON EITHER SIDE OF ME WOULD BE

[Italian racing driver] Alex Zanardi and [Japanese alpinist] Yuichiro Miura. Why? In another life, I would like to be a world class sportsman who inspires people. Zanardi keeps showing us the fighting spirit even after the racing accident that resulted in the amputation of his legs. And Miura became the oldest person to climb and reach the summit of Mt Everest at the age of both 70 and 80 years old.

THE ONE FAMOUS PERSON I'D LIKE TO TRAVEL WITH IS

Qantas ambassador Hugh Jackman. I always fly Qantas and hopefully he could get me an upgrade to first class.

AIRLINE FOOD IS

look, it's come a long way I suppose…

AIRPORT SECURITY IS

necessary, but a bit of a hassle.

HOTELS ARE

essential to a good travelling experience.

I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO GO TO

Iceland or Norway to see northern lights.

I'VE NEVER WANTED TO GO TO

the Bermuda Triangle.
