Qantas Airways has introduced limited-edition Oroton amenity kits on its flights between Asia and Australia to coincide with the new business class seats on its A330 aircraft.

The new amenity kits, which fits the airline's signature pyjamas inside, will be available to those flying on the aircraft with refurbished seats. The first routes to do so are Singapore-Sydney and Singapore-Melbourne. The will be rolled out progressively to other routes, such as flights from Singapore to Brisbane and Hong Kong to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane as Qantas finishes refurbishing more of its A330 international aircraft at its heavy maintenance facility in Brisbane.

Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce said when airline's investment in the new A330 on-board product was combined with that in its updated lounges in Singapore and Hong Kong, it was in a "very strong position" to return and win customers on key routes between Asia and Australia.

The airline's biggest rivals in the region include Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific.

Qantas's economy class customers will benefit from new larger meals which have been introduced on the route and include four choices of main course, one exclusive to those who book online ahead of time.

The new unisex Oroton amenity kit for business class passengers includes an eye mask, socks, toothpaste and toothbrush Aurora Spa skincare products along with the pyjamas. The inclusion of the pyjamas is designed to coincide with the airline's new sleep service, which offers customers the option of having their seats fitted with a mattress and reclined to 25 degrees - or more than the total recline of a premium economy seat - upon take-off.

Qantas head of customer experience and creative development Kylie Morris said the Oroton amenity kits, designed by the Australian firm, were meant to provide passengers with another luxury experience on board.

"It's stylish and functional and will fit the electronics our customers now take with them," she said of the black mock-leather Oroton case.

Passengers on other business class Qantas flights, including from Australia to Asia, will still receive the Kate Spade and Jack Spade designer cases, which were updated with a new pattern late last year.

Other airlines have also been upgrading amenity kits to provide a new touch to passengers, with Virgin Australia Holdings, United Airlines and Cathay Pacific among the carriers to have done so recently.
