The happiest of anniversaries. The fourth and final stage of renovation at the Chiva-Som International Health Resort in Thailand is finished, just in time for the property to celebrate its 25th birthday next year.

The final improvements to the Health & Wellness area, the Bathing Pavilion, Niranlada Medi-Spa, and the much-loved seaside restaurant, Taste of Siam, incorporate the new signature interiors featuring teak, Thai silk and bamboo complemented by a calming, contemporary colour palette and plenty of natural light.

The Spa and Physiotherapy treatment rooms now include a new hydrotherapy suite and flotation chamber, and the Bathing Pavilion has a new sunbed area, changing rooms, plus a new hydro pool.

The full five-year refurbishment has seen the resort accommodation and all of the facilities and public areas redesigned and transformed.

Chiva-Som Hua Hin was Asia's first comprehensive wellness resort, and set the standard for luxury retreats. The beachfront property delivers western diagnostic skills and Eastern philosophies to help guests with lifestyle transformation and has been lauded by loyal clients and industry experts, with awards extending to recognition of its sustainable and green practices.

The resort is in the town of Hua Hin, 185 kilometres south of Bangkok, around three hours from the capital by car or 25 minutes by private plane.

From $3371 a person twin share in an Ocean Room based on a retreat stay. See chivasom.com
