A bowl of Bircher muesli at the Kool Spot Fafe (facebook.com, $11) will energise you for your explorations. Take the bus (broomebus.com.au, day pass $10) to dramatic Gantheaume Point, where at low tide you can see 130 million-year-old dinosaur prints. Stroll back along Cable Beach towards town. Revive yourself with a tasty quinoa salad at Matso's brewery (matsos.com.au, $19) and explore Broome's pearling history at the Pearl Luggers (pearlluggers.com.au, $25), before visiting the Japanese Cemetery where many of the divers were buried. Pick up a barbecue chicken at Cairo Cafe (cairocafe.com.au, $15.90) and enjoy a picnic dinner at Sun Pictures (broomemovies.com.au, $17). Sleep at Beaches of Broome (beachesofbroome.com.au, $140).

TOTAL: $237.90

EASY DOES IT

Start the day with a breakfast burrito at The Good Cartel (facebook.com, $15) before heading out on a tour of Willie Creek Pearl Farm (williecreekpearls.com.au, $105) to discover how pearls are harvested. Back in town, spend some time exploring the buzzing Chinatown district, including Johnny Chi Lane, where a series of panels gave insight into the town's history. Stop in for a late lunch at Azuki ($18) before heading to Cable Beach for a sunset camel ride (redsuncamels.com.au, $80). In the evening, enjoy a dinner of roast duck with green mango sauce at the Aarlie Bar (theaarli.com.au,$38). Overnight at Moonlight Bay Suites (moonlightbaysuites.com.au, $279).

TOTAL: $535

SPLASH OUT

Breakfast in style at RaRa's (facebook.com, $21) before taking a half-day Kimberley Air Safari (kimberleyaviation.com.au, $630). From the air, take in some of the area's highlights, including the Buccaneer Archipelago and the famous Horizontal Falls, before landing at Cape Leveque for lunch and a guided bush tucker walk. On your return to Broome, unleash your inner James Bond with a hovercraft tour including sunset drinks (broomehovercraft.com.au, $172). Dinner is seafood paella at Selene (pinctadacablebeach.com.au, $34), before turning in for the night at the luxurious Cable Beach Club (cablebeachclub.com, $199).
