NEW DAWN

Silversea's newest flagship vessel, Silver Muse, arrived in Darwin this week and will remain in our region until March 2020, its longest Australian deployment to date. We may well be seeing more of Silversea's luxury vessels in Australian waters over the next few years, with the company expanding rapidly. Silver Moon is due to launch next year, as is dedicated Galapagos Islands expedition ship Silver Origin. Other Silversea ships on the horizon include Silver Dawn, expected to sail out in September 2021 for a Mediterranean inaugural season, and two Evolution-class vessels.

Latin America and polar travel specialist Chimu Adventures is hosting Jennifer Byrne and Andrew Denton aboard its Antarctica Untouched voyage, departing on November 22, 2020. The TV pair are frequent travellers to Antarctica and will share their experiences through lectures and discussions. The 11-day cruise departs from Ushuaia in Argentina, visits the Antarctic Peninsula, and will fundraise for the Mawson's Huts Foundation, a charity that preserves Australia's important Antarctica history. Passengers sail aboard Chimu's new vessel Ocean Endeavour, which carries fewer than 200 passengers, is accompanied by biologists, historians and geologists, and is double carbon offset.
