LONDON

I came to London when I was 21 with a plan to start there and backpack my way across Europe. I had purchased all the hiking boots and gear but didn't have a chance to use them as I immediately fell in love with the city and never made it past London. I swapped my hi-tech boots for heels and spent the next 12 months working as a nanny in the day and exploring the city's nightlife for the rest. I loved the pace of London and the ability to explore Europe so easily (a luxurious novelty for an Australian), so I spent many weekends in Tunisia, France and Greece.

NORMANVILLE, SOUTH AUSTRALIA

I spent my childhood summers at Normanville and I always remember seeing horses on the pristine beaches, the fish and chip shop and playing endless games of cards. I can breathe here; it's the place I come to relax. I love the white beaches, clean air and good fishing. Now I come a couple of times a year with my own kids.

VICTORIA BRITISH COLUMBIA

I love the energy in Victoria I spent a few days at the ivy-wrapped Empress Hotel while speaking about body image at a conference. I've never stayed in a more beautiful and spiritually alive hotel. It was built in 1904 and as you walk past the ballroom or the grand dining room you can't help but let your mind wander back to its rich history.

LAS VEGAS

My fondest memory was our honeymoon when my husband, Mat, and I spent a month touring the US. We were on a tight newlywed budget and after a month of staying in modest accommodation our last stop was Vegas where I had the green light to go all out. So approaching Vegas in a convertible car cranking Sean Paul on the stereo I started to make inquiries to all the fancy hotels. Little did I know it was what they call "Mad March" and every hotel in the city was fully booked. After 50 phone calls we finally found a place to stay in the less glamorous part of town, Circus Circus. Even there, the only rooms they had available were out in the drive-up motel part of the complex. It was the dodgiest accommodation of our entire honeymoon, but we had such a giggle. It set a good precedent for our marriage that sometimes you can't take things too seriously.

ADELAIDE

This is the place where I was born and raised and my home where I now raise my three kids. Adelaide has everything I could ever want or need and more. I love its access to the world's best beaches, easy living, clean air, the Adelaide Hills, the wineries, the food and most of all the people. I couldn't think of a more perfect place to live which is why I felt it was so important to honour my hometown and the impact it has had on my life by producing my documentary Embrace at the Adelaide Studios

Embrace opens nationwide on August 4. See bodyimagemovement.com
