New Bangkok hotel has wow factor for business or pleasure
Rooftop bars and fabulous high-rise pools – Bangkok is a city that’s no stranger to these and to hotels with wow factor. Introducing its INNSiDE brand to the Thai capital, Spanish hotel giant Melia has pulled out all stops, giving the newest member of its boutique branch the pool, the bar, and plenty of personality.

INNSiDE by Melia Bangkok Sukhumvit is a bit like the popular-with-expats, upcoming neighbourhood of On Nut where it is situated: a mix of Thai influences, European hospitality and digital nomad desires that is pitched as a place with “... the freedom and flexibility to move seamlessly from work, to leisure, to wellbeing,” as Ignacio Martin, Melia Hotels International Asia Pacific managing director says.
It joins an eclectic collection of 14 urban and beach INNSiDE hotels across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, each designed to be attractive to business, leisure and indeed, “bleisure” travellers.
Well you might ask, isn’t that most hotels?
A work and play stay.
It’s a valid observation but instead of ensconcing the working spaces somewhere windowless and lower floor as some do, INNSiDE by Melia Bangkok Sukhumvit has an expansive co-working space on the 32nd floor, giving precious skyline views over for the enjoyment of those who toil.
Event and meeting spaces are characterised as “creative and playful” in line with the brand’s quirky yet functional character.
There and elsewhere, the design of the 208-room INNSiDE by Melia Bangkok Sukhumvit draws inspiration from some of Bangkok’s most famous landmarks such as the Chao Phraya River and temples Wat Pho and Wat Phra Kaew.
An infinity pool is on the uppermost 34th floor and features a sculpture that’s an interpretation of Bangkok tourist attraction, The Giant Swing.
It drops down across a wall of the Spanish tapas bar on the 33rd floor, where guests can enjoy classic sharing dishes, Spanish wines, beer on tap, cocktails and signature sangrias.

Graphic glass walls of the 31st floor all-day dining Kites Thai Eatery depict state park Sanam Luang and in this space, it’s local cuisines that star.
The Open Living Lounge, a cafe and lobby bar integrated into the 32nd floor’s co-working space, serves barista coffee and morning pastries, Spanish afternoon tea and Thai and Western comfort food, with a drink trolley for pick-me-ups or wind-me-downs as needs be.

All rooms across eight accommodation categories come with work desks, complimentary minibar items, organic bathroom amenities, natural cork yoga mats, big TVs and USB charging. There’s a 24-hour gym on site.
Sustainability efforts include a ban on single-use plastic throughout and recycled glass bottles for drinking water.
