There is nothing better than a sauna after a day on the slopes to reheat the body from the inside out and soothe those worn out muscles. Not all saunas are, however, created equal. The sauna at Lagazuoi Refuge in Cortina, Italy, sits at 2752 metres above sea level with a view to match. The mountain inn is between the resorts of Cortina and Val Badia and has one of the most spectacular views in the Dolomoties accessed by cable car. rifugiolagazuoi.com

The ski resort of Yllas in Lapland Finland offers a saunda gondola for up to four people. You can see out while heating up but no one can see in as you ride the gondola lift for up to two hours.
