W Melbourne is opening up its entire 14th-storey luxury pool and fitness zone to the public for the first time since launching in early 2021.

The Flinders Lane hotel has launched WET at W Melbourne, a weekday swim club in time for spring and summer, giving non-guests full access to the hotel's WET level for a daily fee of $98.

The fee reserves you a lounge chair and 12-hour access to all the WET level facilities between 8am and 8pm, and a few other perks.

The daily $98 fee also gets visitors 12-hour access to the fully-equipped FIT gym.

As well as access to the pool, steam room and FIT gym, pool-day essentials such as towels, showers, change rooms and lockers are also included.

While W Melbourne isn't the first Australian hotel to offer pool and gym access without a room, the swim club package does stand out with its distinctly resort-style perks, which include a fruit platter and mocktail on arrival, and access to the hotel's in-room dining menu throughout the day.

Visitors can enjoy food and drinks in the WET bar while they're there.

It's not the first time W Melbourne has opened up the exclusive pool space to visitors without a room. The Melbourne hotel launched weekly adults-only WET Sunday Sessions in May 2022, featuring DJs, a cocktail on arrival and roving canapes for $45 per person between 2pm and 6pm.

W Melbourne adds to a growing list of Sydney and Melbourne hotels which offer pool access to non-guests, typically via memberships and day passes to their in-house health clubs and day spas.

In Sydney, access to the Shangri-la's health club will set back non-members between $50-$55. Elsewhere, the Langham and Sheraton on the Park each let visitors use the pool facilities for free with a spa treatment, while Langham also provides access for a daily fee of $55 from Monday to Friday.

In Melbourne, memberships for the Park Hyatt's health club, complete with 25-metre indoor lap pool, start at $55 a week (with joining fee) or $70 a visit, but come with a number of rare perks like free valet parking and restaurant discounts. The Grand Hyatt Melbourne's City Club Health and Fitness Centre also offers memberships from $40 a week (with joining fee) with pool, spa, gym and locker access.

Swim Club at W Melbourne is available to book now, Monday to Friday between 8am and 8pm, from $98 per person. Bookings essential. See marriott.com.
