Quiet rural service centre.
Texas is located 101 km from Stanthorpe and 159 km from Tenterfield on the Dumaresq River. It is really a very small community serving the surrounding grazing area. Like so many of Queensland's rural settlements it spreads and has lots of vacant land within the boundaries of the town.

Yuleba

A tiny township on the Warrego Highway 419 km west of Brisbane and 60 km east of Roma, Yuleba is the administrative centre for the Bendemere Shire. It was an important centre for some years prior to 1910 when it was a railway terminus for the area to the west. When the line was extended to Roma and beyond Yuleba declined in importance so that now it is no more than a town of about 300 people on the road from Miles to Roma.
