Man survives 5m fall from tunnel barrier

A man has survived a five-metre fall from a concrete barrier at an entrance to Brisbane's Clem 7 tunnel.

A Department of Community Safety (DCS) spokeswoman said the incident happened at about 9pm (AEST) on Wednesday at the Shafston Avenue entrance to the tunnel in Kangaroo Point.

The man suffered a suspected fractured pelvis and was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition, she said.

It is unsure whether the man was a worker at the tunnel, which is to be officially opened this month.
