Melbourne soul trio Cookin' On Three Burners song may be surprising Australia with the Kung remix of their song This Girl burnin' up the charts in Europe, but the accompanying video is also raising a few eyebrows.

Viewed a whopping more than 40 million times on YouTube, the video features a young couple frolicking on a Mediterranean island they most certainly don't get to on their Busabout or Contiki tours.

So, where is it located?

Featuring whitewashed villages, sandstone cliffs, calm, turquoise waters, roman ruins and empty beaches, one could hazard a guess of Turkey or Greece.

And if you thought the latter, you would most certainly be correct.

The video is set on the island is Milos in Greece, an eight-hour ferry trip from Athens, or a five-hour trip from Santorini. It's off the usual tourist circuit and tempts those who want to see the "real Greece at a fraction of the price".

It has an incredible 80 beaches, some of which are wild and secluded. Two are favourites with visitors; Sarakiniko, which can only be reached by boat, has spectacular white rocks jutting from the sea, forming natural arches; and the crystal clear waters of Kléftiko are a firm favourite for swimmers.

The caves you see the couple ducking in and out of were rumoured to be inhabited by Saracen pirates and then later used by the Germans during World War II. There's also catacombs and 'sleeping' volcanoes to be explored, as well as day trips that can be taken to the surrounding smaller islands.

Tiny colourful fishing visitors dot the island's perimeter, but head to the island's central Adámantas and you can experience the island's frenetic nightlife.

The island was the original home to the statue of Aphrodite - now found at the Louvre in Paris.

And of course being Greece, food is not a disappointment - try the exotic sounding watermelon pie or the more traditional cream cheese pies.

Visitors can stay in anything ranging from guest houses run by families to five-star accommodation, a more recent addition to the landscape.
