There's a reason why business class passengers get off the plane looking way better than those in economy.
Actually, there's a lot of them. If you have ever walked past the business class seats and made yourself feel better by thinking it doesn't matter how you fly, what matters is the destination, you were wrong.
Those business class flyers are doing their trip way better than you.
Here are 17 reasons why upgrading to business class is totally worth it.
1. The extra leg room.
In business class on Qantas you can stretch your legs all the way out and you still won't hit the seat in front of you.
2. The lie flat bed.
Feel like a sleep? Rather than trying to sleep upright like a cow, business class passengers get to put their seat horizontal.
3. The pod enclosure
Qantas' business class seats actually sit inside a little pod. The pod means you can't see the passenger next to you or the one across the aisle. The pod blocks out some of the lights and it means you can make that chair go up and down as much as you like without worrying that you are annoying other passengers.
4. The mattress
Business class passengers are supplied with a mattress that goes over the top of their seat making it extra-comfy for sleeping. That means less waking up with aches and pains and more resting time.
5. The blanket
Instead of that thin sheet that barely covers your legs in economy, business class passengers are getting their snooze with a fully padded blanket.
6. The champagne
Fancy a glass of champagne as you arrive on board? Of course you do. And in business you don't have to wait for the trolley to come along or the flight to be in the air.
7. The ability to get up without pushing past someone
In business class passengers don't have to worry about forcing their bottom past someone's knees. In fact two people could walk past a business class seat without touching.
8. The view
Even if you are placed in the middle row in business you will still be able to see out the window. Seats are staggered so there are plenty of available windows to look out of - without feeling like you are staring at someone.
9. The lounge access
Qantas business class passengers have access to the business lounge for a lovely relaxed meal and a shower before they board the plane. Imagine walking onto a flight and being already prepared for bed.
10. The express path
That annoying line through customs and immigration is really just a short stroll for business and first class. Sometimes there's no queuing at all.
11. The in-seat massage
Tired from a day touring the city? Business class passengers can turn on their in-flight massage chair.
12. The dividing screen
Qantas business class seats come with a screen dividing each chair. That handy feature means you don't have to look at the person seated next to you.
13. The pyjamas
While not quite as fancy as first class, business class passengers are given pyjamas to wear on the flight.
14. The amenities kit upgrade
Qantas' on board amenity kits are designed by Kate and Jack Spade. Not only to they look gorgeous, they also include ASPAR moisturiser, lip balm and hand cream along with socks, eye mask and ear plugs.
15. The overhead locker space
While in economy your overhead baggage will be jammed in with four other passengers, there's so much space in business that you will have a locker to yourself.
16. The in-flight lounge
Not tired on the flight? Business class passengers get a lounge area with magazines and snacks.
17. You can upgrade with points
It doesn't actually take that many to upgrade. Transferring from Economy to Business will only set you back 45,000 points on a flexible fare. That's absolutely achievable especially when you consider there are credit cards offering 50,000 bonus sign up points.
