Dubai may claim title to the world's busiest airport but its France's Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport that takes out the title of world's finest airport restaurant.

I Love Paris by Guy Martin was named the finest airport restaurant taking out the 'airport chef-led/fine dining' category in the 2016 Airport Food and Beverage (FAB) Awards.

The annual award recognises the best and most innovative projects in travel-related food and beverage industry.

I Love Paris by Guy Martin, located in Hall L of terminal 2E at Paris-Charles de Gaulle was recognised for top-quality cuisine and its unique design setting.

The upmarket restaurant opened in June 2015 and offers a menu conceived by three-Michelin-star French chef, Guy Martin, consisting of traditional French cuisine with a modern twist and a setting designed by Iranian-born, Paris-based architect, India Mahdavi. Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport was ranked among the top 10 international airports by Skytrax in 2015.

Gordon Ramsay's Plane Food located at London Heathrow Airport received highly commended in the same category.

Locally, Hudsons at Brisbane Airport took out the title of best airport coffee shop of the year and Sydney Airport's Sumo Green Label was highly commended for its airport food-to-go offer.

Brisbane International Airport was the only Australian airport to be recognised in multiple categories; it also took out the title of best transformation in the airport food and beverage category and received highly commended for its overall airport food and beverage offer.

The best airport food court of the year title goes to Universal Dining, Straits Food Village, Singapore Changi Airport. Changi was also named the world's best airport for 2016 in the Skytrax awards.
