Those lucky enough to be in the alps Wednesday got a taste of Australia's winter wonderland as a series of cold fronts delivered snow to alpine resorts across New South Wales and Victoria.
The temperature plunged to minus 5.8 degrees at Mt Hotham and minus 4.9 degrees at Falls Creek and Mt Buller.
Snowfall is expected to continue on Thursday and into next week.
The snow season officially begins in June, in just under a month's time.
