Emirates has completed its $11 million business class lounge makeover.

The business class lounge, one of the world's busiest, now has a 40 per cent boost in capacity. The Emirates facility in Concourse B at Dubai International Airport now has room for more than 1500 travellers and a footprint of nearly 930 square metres. It serves Emirates First Class and Business Class customers, as well as Emirates Skywards Platinum, Gold and Silver members, and eligible Qantas passengers.

The $US11 million ($A14.4 million) makeover which took two years to complete also has some fancy new features. A partnership with Moet & Chandon, sees the addition of a dedicated "champagne lounge", serving four lines of the French house's finest: Moet Imperial, Moet Rose Imperial, Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage and Moet Nectar Imperial.

Seven other stands within the lounge including a new "Health hub" in partnership with fashionable bottled water de jour, Voss. It features fruit and water infusions, healthy sandwiches, wraps, salads, juices and smoothies.

In the coming year, watch out for a sports and a cocktail bar within Emirates' Dubai lounges.

Other developments include British brand Costa Coffee taking over the caffeine dispensing, with baristas pulling a signature blend for a drinks menu that includes iced coffee. And in true Dubai style, a new bar is decorated with 2400 intricate gold leaves applied individually by hand.

The children's play area has been doubled in size, and the Timeless Spa has been renovated.

The Business Class lounge in concourse B is one of six Emirates lounges at Dubai International Airport and is part of a network of 39 dedicated airport lounges located within major airports around the globe.

Emirates has three Business Class Lounges and three First Class Lounges at Dubai International Airport one each for Concourse A, B and C.

Concourse B is in Terminal 3 and was built exclusively for Emirates in 2008; Qantas was the second airline to fly out of this terminal as of 2012 due to the codeshare agreement with Emirates.

There were 2.5 million passengers in Dubai lounges last year.

The new Emirates business class lounge at Dubai International Airport is open.
