P&O Cruises' has revealed details about the two newest ships to join its permanent Australian fleet in six months – Pacific Aria and Pacific Eden.

Dubbed the next-generation of luxury cruising, the ships will undergo multi-millon dollar renovations that will see the additions of a New Orleans "speakeasy" lounge, a private dining room and penthouse – features which are unique to the two ships.

The Blue Room – a New Orleans "speakeasy" lounge bar – decorated with velvet and chrome furnishings is an opulent space ideal for an evening pre or post dinner drink. Passengers can spend the evening listening to live music, anything from funk to Blues, and Jazz to RnB.

Another lounge bar onboard is the Ocean Bar which will be decorated with comfy chaise lounges in an area with few columns for more open space. This onboard bar is offers a resort-style set up perfects for an afternoon drink or some well-deserved lazing around.

Both Aria and Eden will have an Oasis adults-only area that comes with hanging chairs and private day beds with sheer curtains. Oasis will sit at the stern of the shipping with views overlooking the ships' wakes.

The new-look Lido pool (the main pool), located mid ship, will offer a resort look and feel adding a touch of modern luxe to the cruising experience. The pool will have a retractable roof which will allow pool-use day or night.

To add another layer indulgence, passengers will be able to dine on The Chef's Table – a degustation menu – in a luxurious private dining room located on the same deck at The Blue Room, and one deck above the main dining area. The design of the private dining room is befitting of what the cruise liner says is an "extravagant experience".

Furthermore, the two ships will offer penthouse suites which feature large spa baths, walk-in wardrobes and floor-to-ceiling glass windows that open onto private balconies.

The duo will move across from the Holland America fleet; Ryndam and Statendam will be renamed Pacific Aria and Pacific Eden, respectively. The two ships will have a total of 12 decks and the capacity to hold 1500 guests.
