FINE WINE

Ponant has a special eight-night 'Vineyards & Grands Crus' cruise on Le Soleal departing April 11, 2018. The journey between Lisbon in Portugal and Lorient in France explores some of Europe's most beautiful and best-known vineyards and includes a visit to Château Latour, with a private tour of the vineyards and wine storehouses followed by a tasting. An overnight stay in Bordeaux allows time for optional excursions to La Cité du Vin, the medieval wine town of Saint-Émilion or Château Siaurac. SILVER SHEEN

Silversea's ships Silver Wind and Silver Whisper are currently undergoing a refreshment program which is scheduled for completion next month as part of the company's more comprehensive fleet-wide overhaul. Silver Whisper will undergo technical improvements that add to passenger comfort, as well as a significant redesign of public areas, while Silver Wind's public areas will also receive stylish enhancements in areas including the casino, spa and beauty salon. The overhaul in design takes inspiration from Silversea's new flagship Silver Muse, which launched earlier this year.

ALASKA EXTENDED

Viking Cruises has two new cruise extensions to its 11-day 'Alaska & the Inside Passage' ocean itinerary, which journeys from Vancouver to Seward (or the reverse) between May and August 2019. Guests can now opt for additional days before or after their cruise with either a three-day extension to Anchorage or the more in-depth, six-day 'Denali Explorer' that visits Anchorage, Talkeetna and the world's largest seaplane base at Mt Hood, and also heads into Denali National Park for encounters with moose and caribou. There's also a scenic journey on a domed railcar.
