Virgin Velocity members can now redeem points on Tigerair services
Tigerair unveils the first plane for new Bali routes.
Virgin Velocity members will now be able to use their points to pay for Tigerair flights.
However, members will not be able to earn points on Tigerair services - merely redeem the points they have.
Starting today, Velocity members can use their points as part or full payments across the Tigerair network.
Tigerair 737. The plane features an all-economy class fit out with 180 seats.
This includes the base fare for flights, optional extras and taxes, excluding travel insurance.
Velocity members can use a combination of points and credit card payment when purchasing flights online.
A minimum number of 3,100 points must be used.
Points can also be used to pay for flight changes and post booking ancillary purchases.
Tigerair Australia Commercial Director, Adam Rowe, says today's announcement is another example of Tigerair Australia's ongoing commitment to providing more value and choice for consumers than ever before.
"We are very excited to be partnering with Velocity Frequent Flyer, and to offer this new opportunity for Velocity members to use their Velocity Points to travel on our network," he said.
Tigerair have recently commenced a route to Bali travelling from Melbourne and Perth daily, with five weekly return flights from Adelaide.
