What airline is best for business class flights, Sydney to Paris?

WE ARE LOOKING TO BOOK BUSINESS CLASS FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME FROM SYDNEY TO PARIS IN 2019 AND WERE WONDERING WHICH AIRLINE WOULD BE THE BEST? J. TERNISIEN, CREMORNE, NSW

You've got a choice of the world's best business class airlines on this route. The three I'd nominate are Qatar Airways, Emirates and Singapore Airlines. Qatar's was voted world's best business class in the 2017 Skytrax awards. Between Doha and Paris you'd be travelling in the airline's new Qsuite business class, where the two middle seats convert to make a double bed, and that's a nice way to fly. Service on board is diligent and professional and for all those reasons Qatar would be my number one choice. Singapore Airlines and Emirates run very close behind. Singapore Airlines is rolling out a new business class seat, which should be the one you're sitting in by the time 2019 comes around. It's a premium product and Singapore's business-class service is legendary, which makes this an outstanding choice. The hardware aboard Emirates is great, although service from time to time is slightly less assiduous than aboard the other two airlines.

Another factor that might influence your choice is whether you prefer to fly via the Gulf States or via Singapore, but this only becomes decisive if you're planning a stopover. Also, you're going to collect a swag of points and status credits, so which airline are you most likely to use in the future? If it's within Asia then Singapore Airlines could be your best choice but if you're more likely to travel within Australia you might book a codeshare flight with Qantas to Singapore and partner airline Emirates to Paris, although this would be a two-stop flight, via Dubai.
