What if ... I want a moderate, scenic, walk in Europe with great food and no crowds

By Michael Gebicki

WHAT IF … I WANT A SENSATIONAL, MODERATE WALK IN EUROPE WITH GREAT FOOD, SCENERY AND NO CROWDS?

… according to Simon Scutt, founder and director of On Foot Holidays

"An ideal walk is our self-guided, pack-free walk in Andalucia in the sunny south of Spain. This seven-night journey gets you away from the crowded coastal resorts through the unspoilt mountain scenery of the Grazalema National Park. The trails wind between pueblos blancos (white villages) perched high on the hillsides, finishing at the Moorish cliff-top town of Ronda. Walkers relax at the end of the day in small and quaint hotels. I can highly recommend the slow-roasted lamb or paella with lobster, with a glass of Ibarguen or Schatz Acinipo wine. The climate is warm enough to walk through most of the European winter but is best enjoyed in April/early May or late September/October. Walkers can select their own dates and we organise luggage transfers between hotels so all our guests carry is a daypack. This is one of 32 self-guided walking tours across Europe designed by locals and tested by On Foot Holidays."
