Is there such a thing as a low-stamina European cycling tour?

By Michael Gebicki

I WANT TO DO A CYCLING TRIP IN EUROPE BUT AM NOT SURE OF MY STAMINA?

…according to Kate Baker, general manager, UTracks, active Europe holiday specialist

"Electric bikes are a great option (and confidence booster) for someone contemplating their first cycling trip. You still need to pedal but the battery power gives you that extra 'push' to get up and over hills and cover longer distances. The biggest advantage of an e-bike, and the reason UTracks offers them on over 80 per cent of our European cycling itineraries, is they make it possible for anyone to join in. From couples or families with differing fitness levels to those who lack the confidence to do a longer tour by traditional bicycle or perhaps love the idea of a more demanding cycling route. We are also seeing older travellers who have been avid cyclists for many years swapping their regular bikes for e-bikes because they don't want to give up their European biking holidays. Once you try an e-bike it's hard to go back."
